Built for Impact
MyCoBana is a biomaterials disruptive startup advancing circularity and local value by transforming tropical agricultural waste into high-performance, sustainable biocomposites through rural innovation hubs. We leading the way in environmental innovation while driving inclusive growth, climate resilience and fostering circular economies.

Why Packaging and Construction Need Reinvention?
Major Contributors to Climate Change
Together, packaging and construction account for nearly 40% of global CO₂ emissions, fueled by energy-intensive production processes and the extraction of raw materials. Their carbon footprint continues to grow, driven by rising demand and lack of viable, sustainable alternatives.
Built for Disposal, Not Circularity
These industries produce millions of tons of waste each year, yet only 10% of plastic packaging and 20–30% of construction debris is recycled. Most of it ends up in landfills, incinerators, or the environment—further accelerating ecological degradation
Outdated Materials Dominate the Market
Markets remain saturated with EPS, bioplastics, gypsum, and MDF—materials that are carbon-intensive, non-biodegradable, and resource-extractive by nature. These legacy inputs block innovation and fail to meet the growing demand for sustainable, circular alternatives.
Meanwhile, in Ecuador, 6 millions of tons of banana and coconut agricultural waste each year go underutilized annually, emitting methane and missing circular economy opportunities.

What if agro- waste is
upcycled into value?

From Concept to Pilot
What started as a research idea quickly evolved into a mission-driven venture. After identifying Ecuador’s overlooked biomass potential, we began developing early formulations combining natural fibers with fungal mycelium. From homegrown prototypes to international validation, each step has brought us closer to scalable, sustainable impact.
Today, we are preparing our first Rural Hub and piloting our biocomposites with local partners—laying the groundwork for full-scale production.
Research & formulation begins
Field visits, early lab work, and material testing
Material Breakthrough & Ecosystem Recognition
Development of functional EcoPack and BioPanel prototypes. Gained visibility through local partnerships, startup networks, and global sustainability platforms.
Pre-Launch: Partnerships & Pilot Preparation
Signed LOIs and initiated production planning. Laying groundwork for the first Rural Hub to activate small-scale local manufacturing and regional circular value chains.
Pilot Launch & First Product Deployments
Launch of MVPs in targeted sectors (eco-packaging, green interiors).
Establish the first Rural innovation hub
Rollout of decentralized production through our first operational hub in Ecuador.
What comes next will redefine how we design with nature
